Nồng độ Interleukin-6 huyết thanh, mối liên quan với mức độ nặng và kết quả điều trị ở bệnh nhân thoái hóa khớp gối nguyên phát tại Bệnh viện Đa khoa Tây Ninh

Abstract

A cross-sectional study with a 3-month longitudinal follow-up was conducted on 115 patients with primary knee osteoarthritis diagnosed at Tay Ninh General Hospital. The mean serum IL-6 level was 6.54 ± 11.30 pg/mL, the proportion of patients with elevated IL-6 (> 3.18 pg/mL) was 51.3% and was significantly higher in patients with overweight/obesity, limited knee range of motion, smokers, diabetes mellitus, and dyslipidemia (p < 0.05). Serum IL-6 levels were markedly elevated in patients with severe knee osteoarthritis compared with those with non-severe disease (32.81 ± 30.89 vs. 4.58 ± 4.28 pg/mL; p < 0.05) and showed positive correlations with Kellgren-Lawrence grade and VAS pain score. After 3 months of treatment, 71.3% of patients achieved pain improvement; responders had significantly lower IL-6 levels than non-responders (4.15 ± 4.35 vs. 12.48 ± 18.86 pg/mL; p = 0.007). Serum IL-6 was associated with disease severity and may serve as a useful predictor of treatment response in patients with primary knee osteoarthritis.
