Hanoi Medical Univerrsity first-year students' satisfaction with dental health check-up

Abstract

 This cross-sectional descriptive study assess the satisfaction of Hanoi Medical University firstyear students with dental examination and treatment services at the School of Dentistry, Hanoi
Medical University, and explore factors associated with high level of satisfaction. From March
to April 2021, 96 first-year students from Hanoi Medical University were surveyed after finishing
the dental examination and treatment procedure at the High-Tech Center, School of Dentistry.
The Dental Satisfaction Questionnaire (DSQ) was modified and used to collect data regarding
satisfaction of dental examination and treatment services. Over 80% of the students reported
satisfied for all items in the DSQ questionnaire. Students who had visited a dentist in the past
were less likely to report higher levels of satisfaction than those who have never visited a dentist
(Coef. = 0.05, 95%CI: 0.01 - 0.38). In conclusion, the majority of the first-year students were
satisfied or extremely satisfied with the dental care provided at the High-Tech Center of School of
Dentistry. There was a significant association between dental experience and patient satisfaction.
