Abstract

Frozen embryo transfer is being widely used because of its high efficiency in terms of both in vitro fertilization outcomes and economy. This study aimed to analyze the outcomes and related factors of day 3 frozen embryo transfer. This retrospective study carried out on 183 patients who underwent intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles in the Center of IVF and Tissue engineering, Hanoi Medical University Hospital between January 2018 and December 2020. The results showed the majority of cases were transferred 2 embryos (131 patients accounted for 71.6%), and 3 embryos transfers were 28.4%. The numbers of grade 1 embryos in the 2 embryos transfer group was significantly higher than that of the 3 embryos transfer group (50.9% vs 26.3%, respectively; p < 0.05). The clinical pregnancy rate in both groups was 61.2% and the rate of multiple pregnancies was 21.9%. The quality of embryo transfer affects IVF outcomes, the chance of clinical pregnancy in 1 potential embryo transfer group decreased significantly by 0.368 times compared with the 2 potential embryos group (95%CI: 0.174 - 0.781).
