25. Attitude of Hanoi Medical University students about online learning during the covid-19 pandemic in 2021

Abstract

This is a cross-sectional study of 314 students of Hanoi Medical University to describe the students' attitudes about online learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. The research results show that: Students have a general positive attitude about online learning. Behavioral attitudes and perceived ease of use attitudes have the highest level of agreement (Mean = 3.8 to 3.9), but emotional attitudes and perceived useful attitudes are at the threshold of neutral; the agreement has a mean of 3.3 out of 5 (strongly agree -maximum score). Notably, students are interested in online theoretical lectures; students are confident, and are comfortable interacting with teachers online. They have more time to prepare for lessons, and have easy access lecture handout (Mean = 3.5 to 4.0). Online learning did have some limitations, such as focusing attention, motivation, and communication with classmates. Preference of learning online is lower than learning in the classroom (Mean = 2.9 to 3.2). The University can provide a trial of blended online theoretical lectures and face-to-face practical lecturesto further evaluate for a feasible solution to provide effective teaching and learning methods for medical students.
