33. Psychological status of 4th year students of hanoi medical university in school year 2023-2024

Abstract

Medical students have a lot of pressure due to the long training period and large amount of knowledge. At Hanoi Medical University, the 4th year is the time when students begin clinical practice at the hospital, face many social relationships, and have more difficulties in arranging study time. exercise and rest, which can lead to increased psychological problems. Therefore, we conducted ths research with 2 goals: (1) Description of DASS21 psychological test results. (2) Relationship between DASS21 results and related factors. A total of 196 4th year students from all specialties were randomly selected and instructed to answer a set of questions about a number of issues in life and study; the DASS21 psychological assessment scale was implemented based on the answers. DASS21 results show that 33,67% of students have depression, 43,88% have anxiety and 31,63% have stress. 57,65% of students surveyed had at least 1 of 3 psychological disorders. Besides, 11,73% of students have at least 1 disorder of serious level or higher. There are some correlations between DASS21 results and problems encountered in life and study such as major, academic performance, finances, sleep and social relationships.
