Abstract

EEG is not only a tool to diagnose neurological diseases, but is also useful in analyzing students' learning process, contributing to the development of educational neuroscience. This cross-sectional descriptive study was recorded on 192 students across three major disciplines: Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. Results: The Natural Sciences group exhibited a higher occipital alpha wave index (66.98%) compared to the Health Sciences group (p < 0.05), suggesting a potentially enhanced and more stable relaxed state. A negative correlation (p < 0.05) was observed between the alpha index and both age and years of study in female Health Sciences students, male Natural Sciences students, and female Social Sciences students. The frontal beta wave index was higher in the Health Sciences group compared to other disciplines (p < 0.05), suggesting elevated mental activity within this group.
