Knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding HPV vaccination among female students at Yen Bai College in 2024

Abstract
Cervical cancer is a leading cause of death among women, in which HPV vaccination is a safe and effective preventive measure. This study aimed to assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) regarding HPV vaccination among female students at Yen Bai College in 2024. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 376 students using a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed with SPSS 20.0, applying descriptive statistics and logistic regression. Results showed that only 34.3% of students had adequate knowledge, 89.6% had a positive attitude, but just 7.2% had completed all three doses of the HPV vaccine. The main barriers to vaccination were high cost (59.4%), concerns about side effects (31.3%), and lack of information (15.2%). While female students demonstrated a highly positive attitude, their knowledge remained limited and practice was low, highlighting a clear KAP gap. Strengthening communication and providing financial support are necessary to improve HPV vaccination coverage.
