Knowledge and Self-Care Practices of Chronic Heart Failure Patients at the Cardiovascular Center - Hanoi University of Medicine Hospital

Abstract
A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 140 patients at the Cardiovascular Center - Hanoi University of Medicine Hospital to describe the knowledge and self-care practices of patients with chronic heart failure and related factors. The study found that patients’ overall knowledge remained at moderate to fairly good levels, with a mean knowledge score of 13.93 ± 4.17. Self-care practices were still limited, particularly regarding low-salt dietary behaviors, weight monitoring, and weight control. Statistically significant factors included age, gender, education level, and history of previous heart surgery.
