Abstract

The study aimed to assess status and and identify associated factors of knowledge and attitudes toward Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination among female students at Hanoi Medical University and Bach Mai Medical College during the 2024–2025 academic year. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among 874 female students using a structured questionnaire. The results indicated that 19.8% had adequate knowledge and 12.1% had positive attitudes toward HPV vaccination. Multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed several factors significantly associated with adequate knowledge, including: training institution, academic year, awareness of the causative agent of cervical cancer, awareness that HPV is preventable, knowledge of vaccination service providers, and willingness to pay for the vaccine. Factors significantly associated with positive attitudes included willingness to pay and adequate knowledge. The results highlight an urgent need for targeted interventions to improve knowledge and attitudes toward HPV vaccination among female medical students, the future healthcare workforce.
