Nghiên cứu này đã khảo sát đặc tính kháng viêm của cao chiết ethyl acetate (EtOAc) từ vỏ thân núc nác (Oroxylum indicum). Tác dụng kháng viêm được đánh giá thông qua hiệu quả ức chế sản sinh nitric oxide (NO) ở đại thực bào RAW 264.7 được kích thích bằng lipopolysaccharid và mô hình viêm màng bụng do carrageenan gây ra trên chuột cống. Cao chiết EtOAc cho thấy khả năng làm giảm đáng kể sản xuất NO in vitro và thể tích dịch tiết phúc mạc cũng như số lượng bạch cầu trong dịch tiết phúc mạc in vivo theo cách phụ thuộc liều. Nhìn chung, kết quả của nghiên cứu này đã chứng minh đặc tính kháng viêm của chiết xuất thử nghiệm trên cả in vitro và in vivo. Do đó, cao chiết EtOAc từ vỏ thân núc nác có thể được sử dụng làm nguồn dược phẩm chức năng tiềm năng để phát triển các thực phẩm bổ sung sức khỏe nhằm hỗ trợ kiểm soát tình trạng viêm.
