Nghiên cứu cắt ngang có mục tiêu mô tả một số tỉ lệ về hội chứng sảng ở người bệnh cao tuổi điều trị nội trú tại Bệnh viện Lão khoa Trung ương. 138 người bệnh nhận (i) trên 60 tuổi điều trị tại khoa cấp cứu và khoa hồi sức tích cực (ii) có thông tin đầy đủ về hành chính, tiền sử, bệnh sử, khám lâm sàng, các thông số cận lâm sàng; và (iii) gia đình và bản thân người bệnh đồng ý tự nguyện tham gia nghiên cứu. Kết quả cho thấy tỉ lệ sảng thường gặp ở nhóm tuổi 60 - 69 tuổi. Tỉ lệ nữ giới cao hơn nam giới. Tỉ lệ giảm khả năng tập trung chú ý ở nam cao hơn nữ giới hơn ở nữ giới (p = 0,04). Tỉ lệ nam giới mắc nhồi máu cơ tim cao, bệnh phổi tắc nghẽn mạn tính, ung thư và có sảng cao hơn nhiều so với tỉ lệ nữ giới (p < 0,05). Nghiên cứu bước đầu cho thấy một số tỉ lệ về hội chứng sảng ở người bệnh cao tuổi điều trị nội trú tại bệnh viện Lão Khoa Trung Ương.
