Nghiên cứu nhằm mục tiêu mô tả cách đối phó với căng thẳng trong học tập của sinh viên trường Đại học Y Hà Nội năm học 2018 - 2019. Nhóm nghiên cứu sử dụng phương pháp mô tả cắt ngang trên 1422 sinh viên năm đầu và năm cuối tại Đại học Y Hà Nội. Tỷ lệ sinh viên sử dụng các chiến lược trong nhóm “chiến lược tiếp cận vấn đề” là cao nhất từ 70,3% đến 89,4% ở sinh viên năm đầu và từ 58,2% đến 77,3% với sinh viên năm cuối; tiếp theo là các chiến lược thuộc nhóm “chiến lược hỗ trợ xã hội” và thấp nhất là các chiến lược thuộc nhóm “chiến lược né tránh vấn đề” từ 25,7% đến 77,6% với sinh viên năm đầu và từ 39,3% đến 69,1% với sinh viên năm cuối. Nhà trường cần có các bộ phận tư vấn giúp sinh viên lựa chọn chiến lược phù hợp để đối phó với căng thẳng trong học tập, đặc biệt là sinh viên năm cuối.
