Abstract

The objective of the study was to evaluate the clinical and laboratory characteristics and treatment outcomes of patients with ectopic pregnancy with single-dose methotrexate. We performed a cross-sectional, retrospective descriptive study at Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. A total of 108 medical records of patients with ectopic pregnancy treated with single-dose methotrexate were studied. Results: Abdominal pain 53.7%, delayed period 68.5%, bleeding 75.9%, delayed period - abdominal pain - bleeding 31.5%, uterus size 12% larger than normal, adnexal masses 40.7%, vaginal fornix in pain 11.1%, vaginal fornix with no fluid 70.4%, ultrasound showing mixed echogenic mass 50.9%, size of the ectopic < 3cm 88.9%, βhCG concentration < 1000IU/l 86.1%. The success rate of single-dose Methotrexate treatment is 92.6%, the success rate of 1 dose injection group is 95.8%, the success rate of 2 injection group Is 88.0%, and with 3 injections is 83.3%. The study did not record any cases of adverse effects of Methotrexate… In summary, evaluating the clinical and laboratory characteristics and results of treatment of ectopic pregnancy with single-dose methotrexate is necessary for early treatment as well as predicting complications.
