15. Evaluation on the analgesic effect of electroacupuncture on postoperative endoscopic cholecystolithotomy patients
Main Article Content
Abstract
The major goal in the management of postoperative pain is to minimize the the side effects from medications and to provide adequate analgesia. We carried out this study to evaluate the effect of electroacupuncture on patients suffering from paralytic ileus after endoscopic cholecystolithotomy. This study was designed as a controlled clinical interventional study with before – after treatment comparison and was conducted on 68 patients; patients were divided into 2 groups: the integrated electroacupuncture and the basal modern medicine protocol group . Results: after 4 days of treatment, the average VAS score when joint at rest decreased from 5.0 ± 1.3 to 0.8 ± 0.6 and the average VAS score when joint move decreased from 6.1 ± 1.2 to 1.5 ± 0.7 in the study group. The dosage of paracetamol was also significantly reduced when compared with the control group (p < 0.05).
