Abstract

Paralytic ileus is a common condition after laparoscopic gallstone surgery. We carried out this study to evaluate the effect of electroacupuncture on patients suffering from paralytic ileus after the laparoscopic gallstone surgery. This study was designed as a controlled clinical interventional study with before - after treatment comparison and was conducted on 68 patients; patients were divided into 2 groups: the integrated electroacupuncture and basal modern medicine protocol group and the basal modern medicine protocol group. The results demonstrated that electroacupuncture was safe and effective in improving the paralytic ileus condition.
