33. The pain relief and uterine contracting effects of “Sheng Hua liquid extract” on postpartum women after vaginal delivery

Abstract
This study was conducted to evaluate the pain relief and uterine contracting effects of “Sheng Hua liquid extract” on postpartum women after vaginal delivery. 60 postpartum women who had normal vaginal delivery at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Hanoi General Hospital of Traditional Medicine were enrolled in the study from January to October, 2021. The study was designed as a controlled interventional study, comparing before and after treatment. The study group was administered amoxicillin (Moxilen) and “Sheng Hua liquid extract”. The control group was administered amoxicillin. 60 postpartump women was treated at the hospital for 3 days, then discharged and under outpatient observation until the 14th day after birth. The findings from the study show that: after 3 days of treatment, the mean pain point VAS of the study group (1.6 ± 0.9) was significantly lower than that of the control group (2.9 ± 0.7) (p < 0.05); the mean fundal height of the study group (10.4 ± 0.6cm) was significantly lower than that of the control group (10.8 ± 0.7cm) (p < 0.05); proportions of patients having good treatment outcomes of the study group (50%) were significantly higher than those of the control group (20%) (p < 0.05).
