Abstract
Mental health is a crucial area of concern in nursing care, particularly for enhancing comprehensive patient care quality. Our study was conducted on 114 patients scheduled for circumcision surgery at the Department of Andrology and sexual medicine to assess the levels of Depression, Anxiety, and Stress and to explore related factors. The research revealed that the average age of the study participants was 28.74 ± 8.82, with the youngest being 17 and the oldest being 60 years old. Signs of depression, anxiety, and stress were observed in 14.9%, 25.4%, and 21.1% of the study group, respectively. Among those exhibiting severe and extremely severe levels of Depression, Anxiety, and Stress, the highest proportions were found in the depression group (35.3%), anxiety group (31.03%), and stress group (29.16%). Patients who were single, divorced, or widowed were 4.1 times more likely to experience stress compared to those who were married. Patients with an educational background below high school were 3.03 times more likely to experience depression compared to those with an education level above high school, and patients with an income below 5 million VND were 3.8 times more likely to experience depression compared to those with an income of 5 million VND or more. Our study found no significant difference and did not established a relationship with anxiety regarding certain demographic and medical characteristics.
