13. Current situation of upper third molar in 3rd year students of University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Hanoi National University, 2023

Abstract
The third molars grow in the uppermost part of the maxilla, often causing many complications. Early detection of abnormalities and timely indications play an important role in protecting the patient's oral health. We conducted this research to determine the clinical and X-ray characteristics and treatment requirements on 64 third-year students at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - VNU. Research shows 77% of students had crooked teeth, 37% had external deviation, 54% had clustered roots 83% had teeth with 2 roots, and 58 % had overlapping sinus. Wisdom tooth decay complications account for 24%. and 57.81 of both men and women needed upper 3rd molar extraction.
