Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate the results of the Ban xia xie xin decoction in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease. This study was designed as a controlled interventional clinical trial, comparing before and after treatment. Sixty patients diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease were divided into 2 groups, according to the method of homogenous pairing of age, gender, and degree of GerdQ. The study group used the Ban xia xie xin decoction at a dose of 1 remedy/day, the control group used Omeprazol at a dose of 40 mg/day, followed up for 28 days. The results showed that in both groups, the mean score of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, the mean score of GerdQ decreased statistically significantly after treatment (p < 0.05) and the study group improved better than the control group. No side effect of the remedy on clinical and subclinical has been found.
