Model of predicting the level of self - management among type 2 diabetic patients at Thanh nhan Hospital in 2020
Main Article Content
Abstract
A cross-sectional descriptive study to analyse the effects of several factors on the self-management level of type 2 diabetic patients at Thanh Nhan Hospital in 2020. Result: The linear regression model includes 8 independent variables with statistical significance (Adjusted R² = 0.435; ANOVA for F(8, 349) = 35.330; p <0.001). Three variables are likely to affect the self-management level, including "Duration of disease" (β = -0.121; 95% CI: 0.074 – 0.572; p = 0.011), “Health literacy” (β = 0.403; 95% CI: 0.547 – 1,066; p < 0.001), and "HbA1c" (β = -0.452; 95% CI: -3,922, -2,605; p < 0.001). Conclusion: It is necessary to improve the self-management for patients with type 2 diabetes by glycemic control, increase the health literacy and reduce the duration time of disease as well as delay the complications caused by type 2 diabetes.
