A case series report: Characteristics of ruptured ectopic pregnancy with blood loss ≥ 300ml

Abstract

The study subjects were females with ruptured ectopic pregnancies with blood loss ≥ 300ml. The results showed that the majority were of reproductive age (40 cases, accounting for 74.1%). There were 5 patients ≥ 40 years old (accounting for 9.3%); the rate of self-employed patients with ruptured ectopic pregnancies was 3 times higher than office  workers (79.6% vs. 20.4%); the rate of patients with ruptured ectopic pregnancies participating in social networks was 3 times higher than patients who did not participate in social networks (75.9% vs. 24.1%); the rate of laparoscopic surgery was higher than laparotomy (74.1% vs. 25.9%); 9 cases required blood transfusion (16.8%); the largest amount of blood transfused was 3 units.
