31. Wound healing effects of nuoc la bang Lao Nha Que on doxorubicin-induced skin ulcer in mice
Main Article Content
Abstract
The study aimed to evaluate the wound healing effects of Nuoc la bang Lao Nha Que on doxorubicin-induced skin ulcers in Swiss mice and their systemic toxicity. skin ulcers in mice was induced by intradermally injecting 0.5 mg of doxorubicin and topically applying either dimethyl sulfate or Nuoc la bang Lao Nha Que for 21 consecutive days. Topical application of Nuoc la bang Lao Nha Que at 0.1 and 0.2 ml per application twice daily enhanced wound healing in mice's doxorubicin-induced skin ulcer model, as evidenced by reduced wounded size and improved histopathological structure of the affected tissues. Nuoc la bang Lao Nha Que at both doses tended to increase hydroxyproline levels in the mice's skin after 21 days of treatment. Additionally, the systemic toxicity of topical application of Nuoc la bang Lao Nha Que was assessed by evaluating haematological parameters, renal and hepatic functions and altering the histology of the liver and kidney. The results showed that after 21 days, topical administration of Nuoc la bang Lao Nha Que was deemed not to exert any systemic toxicity to the wounded animals. Thus, Nuoc la bang Lao Nha Que effectively treated skin ulcers while triggering no systemic toxicity in injured animals.
