63. Abstractcurrents status of postoperative care for C - section patients at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital of Kien Giang province

Abstract
This descriptive study examined the current state of postoperative care for cesarean section patients at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital of Kien Giang province. Among 384 postoperative cesarean patients, data on nursing postpartum care processes were collected with the following results: 73.2% of patients received good care, including counseling and health education. Monitoring of uterine involution and lochia ≥ 2 times/day achieved 99.2% on day 1 and decreasing to 88.3% by day 5. Surgical wound care ≥ 2 times/day was 79.9% on day 1 and declining to 73.4% on day 5. Pain management ≥ 2 times/day was 82.3% on day 1 and decreasing to 68.8% on day 5. Personal hygiene care achieved 75% on day 1, while urinary care reached 78.9%. Proper breastfeeding guidance on day 1 was 81.8%, nutritional counseling was 77.9%, psychological counseling was 77.3% and follow-up appointment counseling was 69.3%. The findings demonstrate that postoperative care activities for cesarean section patients at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital of Kien Giang province are implemented relatively comprehensively with high achievement rates. This study emphasizes the critical role of comprehensive postoperative care in enhancing patient recovery quality.
