Clinical characteristics of adjustment disorder with depressed reaction in inpatients in The National Institute of Mental Health

Abstract
Our cross-sectional study aims to describe the clinical characteristics of inpatients who were diagnosed with Adjustment disorder with depressed reaction . A total of 98 patients: (i) had Adjustment disorder with Brief depressive reaction (F43.20) or Prolonged depressive reaction (F43.21) according to ICD 10 criteria; (ii) had complete information on administration, including: medical history, clinical examination, and para clinical parameters; and (iii) a consent agreement was signed by patients and their family to participate in the study. The majority of patients diagnosed with adjustment disorder with depressed mood were female (73.5%), the most common age range was 20-39, the mean age was 32.7 ± 13.7 years. The majority of patients had psychological trauma at work and school (74.5%), occurred with a long-term nature (75.5%), and most of them had more than one psychological traumas (60.1%). 86,7% patients have symptoms of decreased energy and increased fatigue. Among 7 common symptoms of depression, the most common was sleep disturbance (94.4%). 37.8% of patients had at least one suicidal ideation and 19.4% of patients had attempted suicide. Preliminary research showed the typical manifestations of patients were depressive response disorder.
