Knowledge and attitude of students regarding prohibition regulations of the alcohol control law

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the knowledge and attitude about some prohibition regulations of alcohol control Law among 459 Hanoi Medical University students in 2020 and described the available channels to access information about the Law. Most (89.5%) students were aware of the Law. Between 0.7% to 89.3% of the students knew of some of the prohibition regulations in the Law depending on the which regulations. The proportions of students who agree with the prohibitions in the Law ranged from 50.5% to 93%. The majority of the students accessed information about Law through mass media and on the Internet (77.6% and 67.8%, respectively). The results showed that updates about the alcohol control Law for students was timely but not detailed. It is necessary to effectively communicate to the community about the alcohol control Law, its probibition regulations, and penalties for violations.
