This study aimed to determine the prevalence of anxiety and its associated factors among 281 type 2 diabetes outpatients at Kim Anh General Clinic, Soc Son district, Hanoi in 2020. Participants were screened for anxiety using the Hospital anxiety and depression scale (HADS). The results showed that 51.2% of the participants were dealing with anxiety. Factors associated with anxiety include education attainment (OR=3.58; 95%CI: 1.57-8.17), family role (OR=2.53; 95%CI: 1.33-4.84), inpatient diabetes treatment (OR=3.03; 95%CI: 1.60-5.76), and the need for support (OR=5.01; 95%CI: 2.01-12.53). Prevalence of anxiety among patients with type 2 diabetes were high, therefore, screening for prompt detection and treatment of anxiety are highly recommended for this group.
