Adjunctive effects of 'bo khi thong huyet BVP' tablets in patients with lower limb chronic venous insufficiency

Abstract
This study evaluated the adjuvant therapeutic efficacy of 'Bo khi thong huyet BVP' tablets in patients with chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limbs. This open-label, controlled clinical trial with before-and-after comparison included sixty patients with CEAP grades C1-C3 allocated into two matched groups. The intervention group received a combination of 'Bo khi thong huyet BVP' and Venokern 500 mg (comprising 450 mg Diosmin and 50 mg Hesperidin), while the control group received Venokern 500 mg monotherapy. After 30 days of treatment, the intervention group showed significant improvements in limb heaviness, paresthesia (p < 0.05), muscle cramps (p < 0.01) and pain relief according to VAS scores ((p < 0.01). Simultaneously, there were significant improvements in CEAP clinical stages, while VCSS and CIVIQ-20 scores decreased significantly compared to pre-treatment levels (p < 0.01). Mean reflux time in the femoral and great saphenous veins significantly decreased on Doppler ultrasound after treatment (p < 0.05).
