Outcomes of Hysteroscopic Surgery for Intrauterine Adhesions at the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Abstract
The study aimed to evaluate the outcomes of hysteroscopic surgery for the treatment of intrauterine adhesions at the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology from January 2024 to December 2025. A retrospective descriptive study was conducted on 96 patients diagnosed with intrauterine adhesions and treated with hysteroscopic surgery. 43.8% of patients are within the 35 – 39-years old age group. Complete adhesiolysis represented 83.3%, while 16.7% of cases underwent partial adhesiolysis. Only one case of intraoperative uterine perforation was recorded, and no other serious complications were observed. After 3 months of follow-up, 68.8% of patients showed improvement in menstruation. Post-treatment hysterosalpingography demonstrated a marked improvement in uterine cavity morphology, with 61.5% of cases returning to normal and the percentage of severe intrauterine adhesions decreasing to 3.1%. After a mean follow-up period of 7 months, the pregnancy rate was 29.2%. The study results showed that hysteroscopic adhesiolysis is an effective and safe treatment for intrauterine adhesions, contributing to the restoration of uterine cavity anatomy, improvement of menstrual function, and enhancement of fertility potential in affected patients.
