19. Cairo I gingival recession treatment results by using coronally advanced flap and collagen matrix graft: A case report

Abstract
Gingival recession is a clinical condition resulting from various etiologies and risk factors. It often leads to significant patient discomfort, including dentin hypersensitivity, food impaction, and compromised aesthetics, particularly in the anterior region. Management of gingival recession is both necessary and clinically challenging. This report presents a clinical case involving a 29-year-old male patient who presented at the School of Dentistry, Hanoi Medical University, with a Cairo I gingival recession on the buccal surface of the right maxillary premolars. The patient exhibited signs of chronic occlusal trauma and reported a history of traumatic horizontal toothbrushing, no evidence of active infection was observed. Treatment included a coronally advanced flap procedure in combination with a collagen membrane graft (ABCcolla® Collagen Matrix), occlusal adjustment, and behavioral modification. At the three-month follow-up, the patient demonstrated favorable clinical outcomes in terms of root coverage, increased gingival thickness, and aesthetics.
