58. Satisfaction with clinical learning environment of nursing students at Thang Long University
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aimed to assess nursing students’ satisfaction with the clinical learning environment at Thang Long University in 2024 and explore associated factors. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted from March to June 2024 involving 201 second-, third-, and fourth-year nursing students. Data were collected using the Vietnamese version of the Clinical Learning Environment, Supervision and Nurse Teacher Scale (CLES+T). The overall mean satisfaction score was 3.73 ± 0.721. Among the dimensions, students reported the highest satisfaction with the quality of nursing care in the ward (4.01 ± 0.695) and the lowest satisfaction with the pedagogical atmosphere (3.61 ± 0.824). Satisfaction was significantly associated with academic year (p = 0.013) and clinical department (p = 0.038). Second-year students were more satisfied than third-year, fourth-year students (4.29 ± 0.62 compared with 4.02 ± 0.67), and students placed in surgical wards reported higher satisfaction compared to those in internal medicine wards (4.21 ± 0.65 compared with 4.00 ± 0.68. The findings indicate that nursing students were generally satisfied with their clinical learning environment; however, the most notable barriers were the general atmosphere and interpersonal relationships with healthcare staff in the clinical setting.
