5. Evaluation of changes in echocardiographic parameters according to revascularized coronary artery branches in patients with stable angina undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention
Main Article Content
Abstract
The changes in the left ventricular longitudinal strain indices measured by speckle-tracking echocardiography after coronary intervention may vary depending on the revascularized coronary artery branch and need to be investigated to optimize therapeutic strategies. The study evaluated the changes in left ventricular strain indices using speckle-tracking echocardiography in 63 patients with stable angina who underwent coronary intervention. The results showed that after intervention, global longitudinal strain (GLS) of the left ventricle significantly improved in groups with isolated LAD intervention, isolated RCA intervention, and combined LAD-RCA and LAD-LCx interventions (p < 0,001), while the group with isolated LCx intervention showed no remarkable change. Regional myocardial strain corresponding to the coronary artery territories (LAD, LCx, RCA) also significantly improved after intervention (p < 0,001). Speckle-tracking echocardiography is an effective tool for monitoring changes in left ventricular function after coronary revascularization.
